NWOACM will have its next social gathering on December 13th, 5:30pm (time change from 6:30pm), at Packo’s at the Park in downtown Toledo. This will be a “Geek Dinner” where each person is responsible for paying for their own meal/drinks.

This is our main social event for the year, so if you an ACM member in the Toledo region, we invite you to participate. Hopefully we can also get some student ACM members to join us.

The NWOACM Geek Dinner is part of the 2nd Annual Tech Toledo Geek Dinner Mixer, so there will be people from other organization there for you to meet and discuss all manner of technology issues with.

UPDATE: The mixer is part of 3 events on December 13th.

NWOACM is planning on being one of the organizations participating in the “Toledo Technology Mixer”, an informal dinner gathering of various regional technology groups.

The TENTATIVE date is December 15th, 2011.

What: User Experience Day with the Mud Hens

Where: Fifth Third Field, downtown Toledo, Ohio

Would you like to enjoy the company of fellow interaction designers, information architects, usability engineers, developers and others interested in enabling quality user experiences for their customers? And enjoy the world-famous Toledo Mud Hens in a double-header, with fireworks after the games? Bring your family, too, if they are willing to put up with us talking about user experience in between pitches.

40 tickets have been reserved for this group outing. Tickets will cost $9. The ticket order will be placed in mid June, so if you are interested, please contact me (secretary at nwoacm.org).

Our next edition of the NWOACM social gathering is Thursday, April 23, from 6:30pm – 8:30pm.

We are meeting in a new place - Fricker’s in Bowling Green - so we can watch the Wings/Blue Jackets hockey game while we meet to stay in touch.

Everyone is welcome to join us, even if not members of ACM or NWOACM.

NWOACM is hosting a dinner get-together before the Scott McCloud talk on October 24th (2008).

Meet us at 5pm at Campus Polleyes, 440 E. Court St., Bowling Green, OH, 43402 for some eats.

After a quick dinner, we will make our way to the Student Union for the 6:30pm talk.
